Hi i am planning our honeymoon and we both really fancy St Lucia but we don't know anyone whose been and every site i seem to go on is just interested in selling me a holiday instead of telling me the pro's and con's of this place. If anyone's been i would greatly appriciate some honest advice on the good and bad thing and any hints if we were to honeymoon there for example is it cheap to eat out, any weather problems just general things we should know. We are going in June next year by the way.

Thanx for your help

P.S if anyone has any other ideas for exotic places you've been to that would be perfect for a honeymoon i would love to hear them. x

  1. I have been to St. Lucia twice and I love it. The island is absolutely beautiful and everyone is so friendly. When I go I usually stay in the Rodney bay area because there are a lot of restaurants and clubs near there. A lot of honeymooners stay on the opposite side of the island in the more remote areas where there isn't a lot of access to anything. The last time I went we stayed in a villa and didn't eat out a whole lot, but they do have a lot of restaurants to suit different budgets. I'm not the type that can lay around on the beach all day every day and I was able to find lots to do.  The weather is usually warm and sunny, once the last time I visited we did get rain from a passing tropical storm. The island isn't one prone to hurricanes though, they got hit by one last year and the last time they got hit prior to that was years ago. If you and your husband both fancy St. Lucia you should go or you'll wonder what you missed. I don't think you'll regret going. Hope this helps not sure what else you may want to know. If you have any questions feel free to IM me.

  2. St. Lucia is one of the most beautiful islands in the Caribbean, and I have been to most.

It has a French flavor, but everyone there speaks English.

I can't say anything bad about it...there is a bit of a drive from the airport...but its worth it to reach your hotel!!!

  3. My recommendation:

Go to St. John, it's mostly national park and is very unspoiled. Also take a day trip over to Virgin Gorda (BVI) and The Baths (huge boulders you can go swimming around).

Enjoy the honeymoon. Seriously, search for St. John/The Baths. You won't be disappointed!
