  1. Yes i have, we went all inclusive but anyone was walking in and helping themselves.

I think they have 7 pools, its not bad entertainment in the day for the kids.

If you have kids i would reccomend a Thompsons Super Family holiday they are great!!!

  2. It's great if you have kids and you can pick whether you go Self Catering, Half Board or All Inclusive.  They've got 7 pools, loads of entertainment and it is located on a road that has loads of bars, restaurants and shops.

Locally the road is known as the greasy mile (and also the dollar mile) due to the amount of bars, arcades etc.

The beach is only a 10 minute walk up the road - but you have to cross a major busy road.  It's worth the walk as the beach is stunning.

My parent live in Alcudia so I visit at least 3 times a year, but still love it.

    Have a great holiday

  3. Hello Denise.

It really depends on what you are looking for.

The Bellevue will not suit everyone so please make sure that before you part with any money you check out the various reviews (good and bad) from people who have been before.

There are various websites you can try for information (see links below) it helps if you can read between the lines but I find that if a hotel generally has decent feedback from most people with only a couple of complaints then it's ok. What you don't want is everyone complaining of course but you have to be realistic.

You can check what people have to say on trip advisor. The most recent comments are good enough, but read them and make sure it's what you want before committing yourself and don't be frightened to look at the negative reviews, although people complain about the slightest thing, others do have a point and it's worth being fully informed- look before you book :-)

In my opinion, The Bellevue will suit families who don't mind a big accomodation- it really is a HUGE complex - Eight blocks catering for 6000 guests. Similar to a holiday camp and it can be very noisy in high season. There is a lot going on so if it's non-stop entertainment you're looking for among other families then for sheer entertainment value alone it's a good choice.

The accomodation itself is basic and variable. Don't expect much in the way of luxury. Theres no air conditioning and it gets very hot in Majorca in the summer so bear this in mind.

Also, know that you'll be sitting on your balcony with 100 other families and the noise they make. No privacy guaranteed! So if this bothers you go elsewhere.

Unfortunatley some families are less than mannerable and when so many get together in the one place it can make life difficult for others. If this is going to spoil things for you again go elsewhere.

If you have any young children do try and ask for a low floor room, but it's never guaranteed. Its worthwhile e-mailing the hotel ahead of arrival and asking them for a pool view low floor room- if you don't ask you don't get.

If you're the kind of family who join in everything, are tolerant of other peoples children and can handle the noise from next door (the walls are paper thin) then you'll be fine.

Its quieter of course off-season (May/June & September/October avoiding school holidays)

One major problem is that it is beside a lake which is stagnant water and a breeding ground for literally thousands of mosquitoes

The mozzies will eat you alive so make sure you wear a good insect repellant and also use those plug in mozzie killers in your apartment. Because theres no air con, the mozzies love the warm humid environment and they will be in your bed, your wardrobes and if you don't take precaution they will ruin your holiday.

If I am honest, there are other accomodations in the area which are much nicer and still have plenty going on for a family holiday in the sun.

If you like Alcudia I'd reccomend the Viva Sunrise, thats an excellent choice and The Sea Club Alcudia is also good.

Check out the Thomson Superfamily brochure, I'm sure there are free child places available depending on when you want to go, book early for the best deals.

Whatever you decide to do I hope you have a lovely holiday- all the best!
