  1. Have you checked out tripadvisor.com?  There's a lot of folks there with a lot of advice and opinions.

My friend went in March and had a great time.  I don't think there was anything that stressed him out but he tends to have a great time wherever he goes!

  2. well, i lived next to it and I don't have a clue. But I heard it's beautiful. I have lots of friends from there.

Then again it is theor country, they would say it is beautiful, lol

PS: Have a good trip, hope you enjoy it.

  3. No sorry im going Aug 30 to Sept 6. Cant wait.

  4. The Dominican Republican is a destination to many Europeans.  So your options are varied on what type of vacation you want.

If you want to mix and get in with the locals, stay in the cities. They are very beautiful and nice.  The exchange rate... I was there last week is great against the dollar.  And the hotels cater to you well.

If you wish to have a different experience the resorts tend to be all inclusive and located next to one another, drinks, food, and entertainment can all be on site.

We stayed at Cabaret and  if we needed to go to a club, we just walked along the beach to another resort that had one.  The club go-ers are other vacationers around the world.  Excursions pick you up and take you anywhere you want to go.

    Enjoy!!!

  5. I am Dominican, live in the US, and have been there for tourism lately, so here's the think. Decide what you are going for. Usually tourists go and stay in the resort, and have a blast! the entertainers are the best, drinks, beach, pool, music, sun, etc, and better when is all inclusive (usually it is). Now, something I recommend, do a trip and visit around the resort for a few hours maybe, and get to know the real people, real thing. Usually residents around are very friendly because they know tourists are coming, but there is when you have to be aware a people trying to "legally" rob you, they charge you WAY TOO MUCH for something.

But you will have a blast!! is a very fun place!
