Has anyone been to Venice, Italy?

Question

I'm going there in June and staying there for a few days.

Was wondering if anyone could tell me any of there experiences.

We are also meant to be going to a water park, If anyone knows what i'm taking about =]

Are the boys cute there? haha. =D

Venice is a great place, you have to just get lost in the inner streets and get away from the tourist traps.  If you want to climb th bell tower or go to St. Marks, try and go early before the cruise ships come in and you get stampeded by the people who are only there for a few hours and want to see it all.  The water busses are great and run very well, and to the other island around Venice.  The water park I saw but we did not go sorry i cant help there

venice is great .only do not use private water taxis  prices are a ripoff  . evenings eat outside .

I LOVE Venice, but just to warn you, the canals are a little smelly in the summertime. Try taking a water "bus" to the other islands, like Murano or Burano. Murano is famous for their blown glass; Burano is famous for their lace. It's a wonderful and small town to get lost in. Go to Il Ponte Vecchio for the shopping, and buy leather products while you can! And the boys ARE cute!

I spent a lot of time wandering around the little nooks and crannies of Venice, so that now when I go back, I always seem to know where I'm going. Eat al fresco whenever possible; go to a concert on a whim; and it's cliche and stupid expensive but take a gondola ride in the evening. The rocking and the lull and the shusssh of the ocean . . . It was the best nap I've ever had.

I lived in Italy for three years and visited Venice often.  If you are an art lover this is the city for you.  There is the Accadmia and the Farari Church that has Titians tomb.  The night life is kinda slow but there is a little jazz bar called the Bacara.  Ask any local and they could direct you to it.  As for the water park I don't know.  But the guys are very cute and happy to chat with a nice American girl :)
