  1. Touring France is expensive. Some French folks refuse to talk in English, even if they knew. They'd rather talk in Spanish, Italian, but not English.

  2. yes i'm 23 years old and i live here since 23 years lol

  3. I have visited many of the cities/towns along the Mediterranean (French Riviera/Cote d'Azur): Toulon, Marseille, Villefranche, Nice, and the small city-state of Monaco. The countryside was beautiful, the public transportation very reliable, and the food excellent (even from the street vendors if you are game to try it). I found that the younger people usually did not want to speak English to you, even if their English was better than your French, and they weren't very polite if your French was deficient. However, the older folks were more gracious and patient, and made allowances for "grade-school" French, or would fill in with English words.

Some of my best memories are eating in outdoor cafes, the wonderful museums, the Nice flower market, and visiting the aquarium in Monaco (noted for Jacques Cousteau's ties to it.)

It's very helpful to have an interest or some background in the culture, as well as being able to speak some French.

  4. It has to be one of my all time favourite places....usually keeping to the back roads and visiting all the villages the food and local wines are great and cheap the people are very welcoming even though my French is lousy but they love it when you try.

The region I love the best is the S/W ...Narbonne, Toullouse, Carcassone, Montpellier, fantastic, plus you can be in Spain within a couple of hrs , where everything like wine and spirits smokes are even cheaper yet.Lots of nite life and festivals going on all over.. open air markets where you can buy clothes and anything else you can think of very cheap.

If you go to Paris, which is another story, rich in history and culture, but very expensive. If you are going you will love it.. go with the flow.

  5. I've been twice.  The countryside is very beautiful and so is the main cities like Paris.  the French can be rude, but only if you dont try to be polite to them.  But it is a very beautiful.  And great museums and shopping!

  6. France it beautiful. I would recommend going in mid June- early July. France regulates when stores are allowed to have sales. There's about a month in there, where the government allows stores to put things on sale, and everyone does...great stuff for a much better price.

The sights are just how you would imagine. Much more beautiful and artistic than anything you would see here in the states. Much like New York, the Paris Metro is the way to get anywhere and everywhere, but it closes around Midnight in many places.

You can take a boat ride down the river in Paris, at night, and see the Eiffel Tower light up and sparkle. The food is great! Definately take a translater book with you, to avoid eating something nasty...

You must visit Versailles and Notre Dame...They are both architectually stunning!

I didn't have time to visit outside of Paris, but I have heard the countryside it remarkable.

Just being in France makes you want to be an artist or create something.
