  1. there is no such thing as cheap in switzerland.

  2. Yep. I didn't find the shops too expensive, but maybe that's because I live in Zurich. You can find relatively cheap souvenirs, and I bought John Grisham's The Broker used for one frank...It's not a place I'd go TO shop though (pick Milan). Take a boat trip to one of the little fishing villages nearby and go up a funicular. My husband and I had a hoot at the piano bar at the Hotel Eden in Paradiso, but maybe we're just nuts. Have fun!

  3. We were there 10 years ago and enjoyed our visit very much.  You can read our travelogue: http://www.thetravelzine.com/swiss1.htm  We've always found Switzerland very expensive.

  4. I have been there. It's very lovely. In general,   don't recommend any shopping in Europe unless you are specifically looking for an item only available there. It's just expensive as h**l. Save on your wallet and enjoy the sites and natural beauty of CH because they are priceless.

THe other post was right "There is no such thing as cheap in Switzerland".

  5. Well, that's a problem! I do not know what you would like to shop in Switzerland...

There is a factory outlet called "Foxtown" a few minutes off Lugano (in Mendrisio), offering any kind of clothing and a lot more. And of course you easily can travel to Italy to go shopping, perhaps to Como?

Don't miss a visit to "Swiss miniature" in Melide - find almost all Swiss attractions in a scale to walk through.

    Greetings from Switzerland
