Has anyone been to parris island sc?

I'm going to be there aug 22,2008 for graduation (my husband is graduating, I AM SO PROUD) well i came across a problem so now i have to catch a taxi from hotel room 2 P I. QUESTION: is everything in walking distance??? on base. (btw i have a 5 month old) so will it be smart to keep the taxi after i sign in at the visitors center...or i ll be there4 family day n graduation

yes, and the beach sucks, the shark's teeth cut your feet and the sand is really gritty.

Congratulations! My son graduated from PI 5 years ago. The base is large and spread-out. Walking on foot from the visitor center to the graduation grounds will work (stroller for toddler a must) but everything else on the base is "driving" distance.

I am not sure how to get a cab. I went to MCRD San Diego, everything there is within walking distance. I would bring a stroller for sure. Tell your husband Semper Fi! Family was the second best day of my life (The 1st was boot grad!!!) Try looking at this and call some #'s  maybe Family Service Center #) and see what you come up with....
