Has anyone been to sardinia , and what is it like ? (cost of living, fishing, local alcohol etc )?

I am going in October, can anyone share similar ie: was it good holiday ?

sardinia is a great place for holiday, the beachs and the sea are the best of Italy.It's a great place also for fishing. October in sardinia is Summer, so you will find a very hot time. the cost of living is different in different zone, for example the north-east (porto Cervo and Costa Smeralda) is the more expensive and a lot of vip goes there. a paradise you never seen before and why you are interested about the alcohol matter? you got loads things to do there instead of alcohol!

I live in Palau on the northern coast.  If you can make it there you'll never want to leave.  They have a two sided beach, wind surfing, and it's not as crowded as other places in Italy.  

The water is crystal clear and snorkeling can last for hours.  Word of advise.....look out for the sea urchins.

When i lived in Italy in mid eighties.I went and loved it so much

i went back 3 more times on the ferry from Genova.People are

nice.Bierra is good.Fishing which i do was good.Cost like any

where can either be expensive or less expensive depending on

where you go.The weather is great and plenty of coves to swim

alone if you look.You'll enjoy it especially if you like fish dishes.
