I'm going to the Gobi Desert for a week in the middle of August and was wondering what anyone could tell me about the temperature then. I've seen some information and stats online, but I would prefer to hear someone's experience.

The Gobi's climate isn't like the Sahara's (I know the Gobi is characterized as a cold desert), but will the warmer temperatures in August ever be unbearable?

  1. no i haven't

  2. I went there for a month.  It was pretty rough.  The hotel where I was staying was so air conditioned, I got what you call, "air condition sickness" from the rapid contrast.  I felt like I couldn't breathe and felt like I had the flu.  We had a few dust storms but it was beautiful.  Be sure to check out the night sky.  It was one of the highlights of my life.  Also, be sure to get a gamma gobulin shot 1 month before you go.

  3. No, it is nothing like the Sahara. It is comparable to Utah in the summer. Hot days, mild nights.
