  1. We have a beautiful hotel in Dubai, its an Intercontinental, I book lotsa reservations there, youll enjoy it

  2. Why are you going to support tourism in Dubai.  Are you not aware of the entire oil scheme's going on.  We are at war because of oil and the monopoly from the U.S. and Saudi's and you want to give them tourism dollars??   When you spend your money touring Dubai you are supporting the oil monopoly. Dubai is the direct result of oil profits?  Are you not aware of that?

  3. dubai is nice but very hot & humid. also  take  a full$$$ wallet  with you. things  are not cheap there.

  4. luckyy, u are going to have an amazing time, =]

    wish i could goo!

  5. my neibor been to dubai go to the big tall restraunt on the bech in the hotel its expensive thouhg .he built the submarines

  6. Yes, i have been to the Maldives on a cruise offshore break. We got mobbed by sellers and other people. Don't show emotion to them. Walk on and show no interest. Otherwise, its a beautiful city with good history.

  7. Great choice! Vilu Reef is a stellar island!

It takes about 35 mins by seaplane from Malé.

The recommendations I would make would be....

Take some small denominations of US dollars for tipping e.g. $2 for the guys that carry your bags to your room, $15-25 per week  for your housekeeper and your waiter. This is the norm but some people don't tip, so it's up to you. We always have done simply because the service we'ver received has always been exemplary and what we didn't realise is that the staff actually pay for their accommodation even though they have to live on the resort to work there.

If you like the water then find out if snorkelling equipment is included in your package.

No matter what DIVE! Even if you're a novice, they'll train you up in the morning and take you out into the lagoon and it is phe-no-me-nal!! (the instructors are PADI qualified so you're in safe hands)...Oh and buy an underwater camera!!!!

The resort has daily trips and excursions so either find out what they do before you go or check with reception when you arrive; some of them may well be part of your package and others you will have to pay for...book them early as it's always on a first come, first serve basis (if you look at my site below, the other resorts I've written about will give you a general idea).

If you enjoy a drink and aren't already going all inclusive, check out the cost of upgrading to an AI package as this might be more economical.

Be aware it can and probably will rain at some point. This is the tropics - so perhaps take a book or a board game...or go diving!! It will be hot and humid on your holiday (around 30 degrees celcius) so take lots of sun cream.

Last of all, these island resorts are purpose built for tourism. You will feel as though you're on an island alone but you will have the comforts of home...believe me, it's an experience!!!

As yet I haven't been to Dubai but I know their are visa requirements so get them sorted before you go...hopefully someone else can fill you in on what to do in Dubai.

    Enjoy your hols!

  8. Definately take pictures. The construction is amazing. Supposedly for miles. I haven't been but plan to go. Pretty soon the largest building in the world will be complete there.

  9. no

  10. goodluck dubai is a very nice and progressive city. i am not sure about maldives ive been there long ago and not know what it looks like now after the tsunami.

  11. I was in Dubai around 1991. It's probobly changed considerably. There's plenty of shopping. Perfumeries, gold souks,I saw an A&W, and a KFC. It's very westernized, but they still have THEIR rules. I think I saw a couple of Malls there too. It's kind of expensive, but the gold can be cheap. In some markets you can barter. Enjoy!
