  1. Usually, It's a scam.

I am from Costa Rica and I am living in US. I wanted to buy some lands there. My first option, was looking on line, that was a really mistake, they charge you between 20k to 150k for a lot. I asked a friend and he found me really good lots for $4k.

The system that they usually do to transfer the properties are by Societies.  In my case, I really like Steward Financial Title. I work in Real Estate here, so I know the way they work and the insurance that you have.

You really need to be careful with buying a property without seeing it.  You can contact the local newspapers to see the properties that are for sale in the regular basis, like www.economicos.com or ticotimes.com

Let me know if you need help.

  2. Dont trust them it could be a scam.

  3. ya unless your like your like rich or something!!!

  4. Depending on the company  >>>>> it is probably a scam.

    LOOK SERIOUSLY into it.

I live in Costa Rica and get spam from Paragon.  I have seen what they are offering and the progress >>>actually lack of progress being made.  Many of these companies are looking for investors to finish their projects, and they are pre-selling  condos and such with no gunantee of completion date

BE CAREFUL.  Don't buy sight unseen

  5. Maybe, maybe not.  The prices are too inflated, much more expensive than most of the US.  If it is cheap, it is a very undesirable location.

  6. i am not sure. those probably are. but one thing is for sure, i can help you get the property you want here in costa rica. and i am definitely not a scam !!! im not a real estate agent either. but i am very close friends with a very influential lawyer here in costa rica who can help you if you are interested! just let me know!

  8. If you did not ask for it, it is a scam.  I get those for land and "investment" opportunities all the time.

Land Ownership, Expropriations, Squatters, Shorline Property: U.S. citizens are urged to use caution when making real estate purchases, and should consult reputable legal counsel and investigate thoroughly all aspects before entering into a contract.

Irregular Land Registrations: Due to irregular enforcement of property laws, investors should exercise extreme caution before investing in real estate. There is a long history of investment and real estate scams and frauds perpetrated against U.S. citizens and other international visitors. There have been numerous instances of duly registered properties reverting to previously unknown owners who have shown they possess clear title and parallel registration.
