Has anyone bought a Sony FX1 off ebay?

just wondering what peoples' experiences have been buying HD camcorders like the FX1 off ebay. and yes, BH is an option, and no I'm really not in the market to hear the why nots, i'm looking for real world examples. thank you!

i'd be VERY careful of buying anything expensive on ebay.

paralell imports (or grey markets) are rife on ebay and it'll be a nightmare to try and get it to work or have warrenty issues done on it if it happens to mess up.

second hand also has some big problems. generally speaking, noone is going to sell a camera unless it has a problem. it's worth the warrenty and peace of mind finding something from a reputable dealer.

i mean have you ever actually heard of anyone getting a great deal with suich an offer? i'm sure it's a resonding NO.
