Has anyone bought anything like the 8 books for $1? Or 10 cds for a penny?

I see those type of things and wonder how they work. I've read terms and conditions on them and most say, "Plus shipping" but they also say things like "cancel at anytime" or "minimum purchase required"....

It seems like it'd be a great deal, but do they charge outragous amounts for shipping and handling? Is that how they make their money?

I'm asking only for the views of those that have actually purchased one of those offers.

I've done both of these things; in fact, more than once. I haven't found the shipping to be a huge cost. I think I ended up paying about $25 for the 8 book deal, and about $20 for the CD's, which is a great deal.

Just be sure that the offer DOES state 'cancel at anytime' and also that 'no future purchase required'. Read the fine print to make sure they're not hiding something from you there.
