  1. Be sure they have a telephone number posted and call that number to be sure someone answers. See what their customer service is like as well as their return and exchange policies. Use a credit card to make the purchase so you can do a chargeback if you don;t receive your dress. Also order very early so you're not crying days before your wedding without a dress. Personally, i would only buy from internet sites participating with the BBB or some other online trust authority.

  2. I actually bought mine that way. I found the seller on eBay & they had 99.99% positive feedback. I couldn't be any happier with my dress ! It came out exactly how I thought it would, was a PERFECT fit (so NO alterations are needed) & was a heck of allot cheaper than other places (paid a total of $220, which included the S&H). Besides seeling their services on eBay, they also have a regular web-site as well.

The only advice I would give you is:

    1) pay with a credit card, so, if something happens, you can dispute the charge

    2) have a professional measure you

    3) give yourself PLENTY of time. (which is why I ordered mine so early) . You also want to tell them that you are getting married a few months before you actually are (so you have a "buffer" time period & you can insure you get it on-time)

The seller's name on eBay that I got mine from is giannarbridal

    Here's their actual web-site.

They are really good at resopnding to e-mails within 2 days (b/c of the time difference).

The dress I got was one of the "redesigned dresses" (i.e. knock-offs). Had I bought the actual name brand one, I would have spent at least 4 times the amount I did.

  3. Yes I bought my dress there (perridress)!  I had no problems with them. Obviously some people have had problems.  It was about $150 for my gown and I except that I got lucky.  It might just be worth the risk to order from them.  I would have ordered my dress online regardless because I love shopping online its a great way to look for good deals.

If you choose to go the route of Perridress you will likely still need to have the dress altered.  So that may cost just as much as the gown itself and you'll need to have the gown dry cleaned before the wedding.  Like I said I'm really happy with my dress and not sorry at all.  However it may not work out for everyone.

If you have more questions about perridress.com I will try to answer them.  You can email me.

While there are some complaints they also have some positive feedback as well.  http://www.peridress.com/forum/viewforum...

  4. I would buy a dress online only from a company with a brick-and-mortar location and a landline, as well as an email address at the domain. These are all signs of a "real business." You don't want to deal with someone who's working out of his living room with a cell phone and a hotmail address. Check the Better Business Bureau and the Attorney General Office of Consumer Affairs in the state where the business is located.

I've dealt with two different LA-based businesses and bought two designer wedding gowns at dramatically reduced prices. Both dresses had to be altered, which we knew going in, but the savings of the initial purchase was too good to pass up.

I've not bought a wedding dress from China, but the two dealings I've had with merchants there have resulted in my refusal to ever attempt it again.

I recommend that you get someone on the phone, get a name and be assured by the nature of the conversation before you proceed.

  5. DO NOT PURCHASE A DRESS ONLINE.

Think of your wedding dress like your finance would think of his car. He wouldn't buy a car he saw on the internet coming from another country just because he liked the pictures. Don't do the same for your dress. If you like their knockoffs, I suggest contacting the company to see if they have any vendors in our country. There are too many things (shipping, fit,  product quality, etc.) that could go wrong and not only would you not have a dress but you'd be out of your money as well.

If you're looking for a wedding dress on the cheap, try consignment shops, trunk shows or check online for sales in nearby states. A two hour drive across the border into another state could mean finding a one of a kind dress that you love. Worth it.

  6. I got mine on Ebay for $200.  It was amazingly beautiful and I looked great in it.

  7. i bought mine off of the internet. i actually found 3 different dresses on line that i liked, so i ordered all 3 of them, and then tried them on when they arrived, picked the one i liked best and sent the other 2 back in the mail.
