Has anyone suffered a torn ACL (anterior cruciate ligament...according to my understanding, the most common knee injury in sports), had arthroscopic surgery to repair it, and then come back to play v-ball competitively?

  1. Yes and did well. Look at Cynthia Barboza from Stanford University and Christa Harmotto from Penn State University. They both blew out their ACL's and came back to be very good. Barboza now plays with the US national training team and tours the world as the starting outside hitter for them while Harmotto played on club national teams as the starting middle hitter and an NCAA title. It isn't easy to come back from them, but it is possible.
