Has anyone dined at the OXO tower restaurant in London?

My girlfriend and I are planning to go for our 1st anniversary, the restaurant is beautifully located, but is it as good as it is rumoured to be?

I visited there a few months ago and the food was fantastic... Good impressive wine list and great river views over London and on the whole an enjoyable experience.

it is fab... a lovely location and the view from the bar is nice,but there are 2 restaurant's,,one brasserie and the resturant. make sure its not the brasserie.... the food was ok.. i would go again x

great location, fantastic view, very romantic setting

- but one guide of restaurants reckons it is "severely overpriced" & disappointing food, with poor service & standards

i think if you go for the view & don't expect too much from the food etc., you will be fine and will enjoy it - and hopefully the food will be fine too (as it may depend on the night), so you will have a great time

Yes, it's lovely.  You should have a great time on your 1st anniversary, enjoy the fantastic views!  I went a few years ago for my birthday and my husband was surprising me with a theatre show afterwards, unfortunately the staff ask you if you are seeing a show before seating you so they know whether to get you served straight away or let you have a relaxing meal and it ruined the surprise as I was standing right next to him when they asked.  So if you have a surprised planned be a little careful they don't spoil it for you, otherwise enjoy the food and the views and have a great time.

location amazing, ambience good as it's pretty lively, but food average and pricey. maybe go for a drink to admire the view and eat somewhere else.

Went a couple of years ago with work. The Views are amazing and the food is pretty good too. Not cheap but the whole package works well.  Hope you have a great time.

Yes, beautiful views over London.  Probably to take your mind off the small portions you are paying an extortionate price for. Take your girl somewhere you already know and like and use the left over money for an extra special present.

No.  I really don't like it and the last time I was there I got food poisoning.  I think it's over-priced and the food is distinctly average.  The only good thing about it is the views.
