  1. First of all, don't do the "10 point to the best answer" thing.  It's frowned upon in the Y!A community guidelines.

I haven't done COVA, but we use the same curriculum they do, K12.  It's fantastic!  COVA and PAVCS (PA) were the first two VA's from K12.  So they've been around since 2001 and have a lot of experience.

I worked at two COVA K12 Expos in CO.  I met the principal and a few teachers and they are wonderful!  They try to have activities in all parts of the state.  If you live on the Front Range, of course you'll have more opportunities, but even if you're in a small town, you should have a chance to meet other students.

The curriculum is delivered online through K12's "OLS" - Online School System.  You will still have a lot of offline work.  Your parents will oversee your education, but you'll have a certified teacher assigned to you, since COVA is a public school.  You'll have to report to the teacher, and s/he will watch your attendance and progression through your courses to make sure you stay on track.  You'll have to abide by the guidelines set by COVA as far as attendance and coursework.  Your teacher will have a phone, email, or IRL meeting with you on certain time intervals.

If you're thinking about it- give it a shot!  You can always un-enroll and go back to what you were doing before!
