  1. Its all a matter of your approach to service.

The USAF and Army are different worlds.  And the 11B grunt is the the farthest from what you know in the AF.

But if you want a physical and mental challenge... hard jobs, harder bosses and tremendous leadership training... then you should look at the Infantry.

But if your not comfortable being tremendously challenged... having to drop all the cred you have earned so far and starting over... or if you are not ready to believe there are only 2 answers:  Mission Accomplished or No Excuse.... then the Infantry may not be for you.

I spent 28 years in the Army combat arms (armor and cavalry).  Would not have traded that experience for anything.  Hard life, but you can literally trust your life to your buddies and have the satisfaction of accomplishing tremendous missions.

If you are not near an Army base, then I suggest you talk to your local Security Police guys... they will have some of the flavor of Army combat arms (and lots of cool weapons and other toys!).  Some may have been to Ft. Benning for Airborne school or some weapons training.

Good luck whatever you do and God Bless

  2. I'm not in the service yet (too young), but I go to the gym on the fort all the time (my dad was army). In the sauna, the soldiers talk about their MOS's, and the one guy who says [reluctantly] "11 Bravo" gets laughed at by the others, and the guy in infantry says "what the h**l was I thinkin' signin' those papers?"

The mutual consensus was they should have joined the air force. Less hard work and hotter women.

I know this wasn't really an answer to your question, but I thought it might help.
