I am thinking of completing a TESOL course at home with Tesol direct. They are accreditted by the college of teachers. I would like to do it so I can work in the UAE. It is fairly priced at £445. Please could anyone advise me if they have done it and the chances of getting a job afterwards.

  1. I teach here in Asia and online courses are frowned upon.  I managed to complete a course that had minimal classroom time worked into it.

My recommendation, take a month, go somewhere nice and vacationy and do your TESOL in person.  All over Asia cost of living is dirt cheap, and you can get the degree and a months vacation for almost the same price.

Doing your course in the UAE is probably also a possibility, and doing so will give you a good line in (experienced teachers) as to who to work for and not work for.
