Has anyone done a child psychology course?

and if so, what exactly does it involve?

i want to work in a primary(elementary) school as a classroom/teacher assistant.

would this be the right course for me?

I took a couple of general psych classes, but we did have sections on child psychology.  It covered things like separation anxiety, learning disorders, and how a child's environment plays a role in the child's personality.  I think a course specifically on child psychology would definitely be a good idea for someone in your profression.
