  1. I am a nurse and I think I know what you are trying to say.  You are talking about an RN program that you do at home versus in an actual classroom setting.  There truly is such a thing.  However,  in order to do a program like this you actually have to be a nurse already.  You must be licensed or registered as a nurse in your state before beginning this type of program.  You have to at least be an LPN/LVN.  Study materials are sent to you in the mail.  You still have to take exams throughout this course as well as clinicals.  You are tested on what you have learned at the end of each subject study book.  You have to go to an actual site such as the Sylvan Learning Center to take these tests.  This program is designed for LPN/LVN's to become RN's (associates degree) or for an RN (associate degree) to get their bachelor or master degree if they don't have the flexibility to be in a classroom setting.  This program is actually more difficult than the classroom setting because you have to be totally disciplined.  When at home you don't tend to take things seriously.  You may begin to slack in your study schedule because you are too comfortable.  There is a certain time frame to complete each subject study book because this is a one year program.  Plus, you don't have the benefit of a personal instructor.  Clinicals are also a little more difficult because it is a little more intense than in a classroom setting.  However, you go to a clinical camp for one week to do nothing but practice on skills and things that you need to know for the state board test.  I hope this helps.

  2. This is a joke, right?

  3. I hope it's a joke...

To the asker: You can take some online classes in college along with classes on campus depending on the degree you're going for, but it's not called home schooling. Homeschooling is when children are educated at home PRIOR to going to college.

  4. The clinicals are much harder.  You have to already be a LVN/LPN or a paramedic.  The classes are harder too due to the self discipline.  Look up Excelsior College on the web.  It is a great alternative if you have to work or have kids at home without help/ baby sitter.  It is a bit more expensive too. It is harder to get financial aide. If you do better by yourself then it may be right for u.  Think about it.  Do not spend money on alot of study systems alot of stuff u can go to your local college library and check out books and yahoo groups will help too.  Plus you can buy 8wk online conferences for each subject and practice tests that assist you and they send you a free test blueprint but you still have to put in the study time.
