Has anyone done a mutual exchange with their house?

What was your experience like? Was it easy? Did it take a long time? Any good or bad experiences? Thankyou kind and lovely people?

But a good friend of mine, from San Fransisco did with a couple in London, and the exchange was smooth, pleasant, easy and mutually beneficial

We tried and it didn't work out.  We were trying for a permanent house swap.  They wanted our house and we wanted ours.  That's supposedly the hard part, finding someone to swap with.  The problem was each of us owed more than our houses would appraise for.  And the banks are strict now about not loaning more than the house was worth.  So we would have had to both bring money to closing and we couldn't afford that.  Good luck!

Yes i did, to the house i'm currently living in. It took 6 weeks from beginning to end, no nasty experiences and i'm very happy here. Best thing i ever did. Go for it hon and Good Luck on your new venture.
