My friend and I are planning a trip to Ireland next year and we want to do a self-driven tour. Does anyone have recommendations or done this before?

  1. We did a great tour from Cork airport - the roads are easy to drive (get a good map though) and the people and scenery were fantastic. I have included in my web site below - please visit and give me your opinion. I recommend the Munster tour.

    Have a great time,

  2. My sisters and I did a driving tour through Ireland in May 2005; it was an awesome trip and I would definitely recommend doing Ireland as a self-drive tour.  We used dooleyvacations.com and stayed in B&Bs throughout the country (they give you vouchers to use as payment to the B&Bs).  We started in Dublin and worked our way all around Ireland and left from Dublin.  I've heard that it is easier to fly into Shannon, but Dublin worked okay for us.  Have fun planning your trip - I loved Ireland!

  3. I did it by myself.  I had a great time. Started & ended in Dublin.  Would love to go back.  Do it!  You must visit  Doolin.  The craic there is the best!
