Has anyone done open swim at a YMCA?

that is the pool schedule for this week. i am trying to figure out when i could go and swim laps because it is great exercise but im having trouble understanding this chart. is the 5am-8:30am open swim?

from 8:30am-9:30am is says lap (5) open (3) does anyone know what that means?

do i just go and claim a lane or what? how do u deal with crowded lanes?

please dont be mean i just would like to go swimming and dont want to get out of bed at 5am for nothing lol i have never gone swimming in a ymca pool with other people besides when i was little and was in swimming lessons so i dont really know when im allowed to go and when i cant

I tried my best, but I couldnt understand it either.  I say given them a call and let the pros figure it out for you.

i cant really read that scedule its too small. at my ymca the open swim is normally in the afternoon but idk. i think you should call and ask and they should be able to answer all of your questions.
