Has anyone done the Bioluminense Kayak tour in Old San Juan?

My family and I are doing it at night, and I wanted to know what the tour is set up like. Does everyone have their own kayak or are people together? Where is the tour guide?

Thanks everyone!

  1. No, but it sounds interesting!

  2. I have done the BioBay tour.

It is not in OSJ- you will have to travel about 1.25hrs east to Fajardo.

From there you join a group.  2 people to a kayak. You follow the kayak in front of you ( they will have a little light on it).  The guide is in front.  If it is a really large group, there might be a guide in the back to, but not always.

You kayak through this thin channel until you get to the Bay.  From there it is an open area and your group will join together and your guide will tell you about the organisms in the bay that make the light.

Then you get to play with the water to make it glow.

It is very neat.  The most important thing is that you go on a night with little moonlight.
