  1. I worked on three expeditions with Earthwatch.  You do PAY for these volunteer job and your country may consider this a tax deduction under charity guidelines.

I worked 2 times in Thailand and a long time ago in Indonesia.   You choose the program you have an interest in, sign up, your money supports the programs and you do the physical labor.  You work with other volunteers from many countries.  You can choose the expedition you want - living in the wild in tents or sleeping in hotels.

Link to some programs in Thailand.

For Thailand I chose "Origins of Angkor" which was out of Phimai, Thailand.  We worked on an archaeological dig.  This project has been ongoing for many years.  These expeditions have been very helpful to document Thai history.

A Google search will give you other volunteer opportunities.

    Good luck.

  2. No i was forced to work, man said would pay 20 a hour but didnt and  made provide services 6 hours straight with no food or water.

It was horrible, I once work for 3 men at same time and it hurt  much, I was then given coins to bring back to mother but was not enough for rice and we no eat for two days.  Third day I got rice for order of 5 men and my mother said that I should do more to get more food but I hurt so much I know no what to do.

I even move to Phillipine and they do same thing to me there because they help me to go there. Very bad work there, I hope to come to america and find rich man who love me and we have happy life together.
