I thought it would be a good idea to start making my daughter's baby food. She was eating the gerber 1st foods and I thought since she'll be starting 2nd foods why not try and make it. Well I did it and I tasted it. It came out like pureed fruits and veggies I guess. But my daughter does not like it at all. She actually gags at the green beans, where alas she'll eat the gerber one. Anyone else go through this? Should I give in and buy gerber 2nd foods? Or just keep trying? One other thing, my grandma babysits and I had asked her not to buy the 2nd foods since I was planning on making it myself. She frowned at theidea and went and bought it anyway. So if I keep tryng, it would be only for dinner and on the weekends. My grandma feeds her breakfast and lunch

  1. Homemade is better, but it should've been done from the beginning b/c now she is accustomed to the Gerber food.  If your grandma is feeding her that & you make something else, she will know the difference.  If you want to keep on trying, it has to be consistent throughout the day.  Otherwise, your baby will not eat what you give her.

  2. The gerber food probably tastes better, try both and see which tastes better, if Gerber tastes better then try to make yours a little more flavorful!  About your Grandma, she shouldn't be feeding your baby anything you dont want in her system.  I think homemade food is better too because then you know what is in it!

  3. How old is she?  You can try adding spices to homemade food around 8 months.  They are healthful, and make food much more appetizing!!  :)  Try cinnamon, nutmeg, mint, dill, garlic, pepper, vanilla, oregano, and basil.

I agree with you that homemade is better!!!
