  1. USCIS is grossly overloaded.  Right now they are processing over 600,000 foreign students who are about to start the new school year, plus about 100,000 H1-b visaholders are about to enter and are trying to get dependent visas for their spouses and children.

Too many people are trying to enter the US & the volume is far beyond our capacity to manage.

BTW, there probably aren't jobs for you anyway.  The US is losing over 450,000 jobs per week -- and that only counts citizens and legal permanent residents who are eligible for unemployment insurance.  Job losses are larger, and growing faster than at any time since the Great Depression of the 1930's.

  2. USCIS...I have no idea what they are doing there.

I petitioned my husband almost 3 years ago for his residency, (I am a US citizen), we are still waiting on an answer. We have not even done the interview.

    Good luck!

  3. You will probably not hear anything from them until after October. That's when the immigration year begins and when things start moving again.

You can kind of get an idea of what they are processing right now by visiting this site. It is not very accurate, but I check it every once in a while for my pending case.

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/Process...

There is also this site where you can enter your case number and get a status on YOUR case. Not very detailed, but at least you will know if you they have received your paperwork:

    https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/login.j...

  4. If it has been more than 90 days since you applied for an EAD, you can go to their office with the supporting documents and they will give it to you the same day.
