Has anyone else been watching The Coal House on BBC4 it's really good to see how people really lived in the?

1920's and how well the three families seem to have adapted to their new surrounding especially the children, My eldest son who is 12 was really taken aback when he realised at the age of 13 most boys were sent out to earn money maybe they should bring it back (working At 13) then maybe there would be less teenage trouble

  1. A sanitised programme,which didn't show the real hardships.My granddad,long dead,worked in the Rhondda mines as a young man in the 1920s!


  2. I watched it on BBC Wales last year and I agree it was an excellent insight into life in the 1920s.

    If you're ever up this way, you ought to pop along and see where it was made - they are the original houses and therefore still there - interesting
