If so what could you do for them? Is there anything besides monistat that works? I have been using monistat 7 but they come right back. I have been to the dr for this several times. She prescribes me something and a few weeks later, back again. I haven't been able to have s*x with my hubby because I'm afraid of getting another one. I stopped baths also. What else can I do? Will this hurt my baby? I'm not having a vaginal delivery. It will be a scheduled c-section.

  1. try drinking more water. water is suppose to clean out your system

  2. I am right with you on this one.. First child no problem with them, but with this one I have had 4.  At first I tried the medicine from the store, then the next two times the Dr. prescribed something. It goes away for about 2 weeks, then its back.. I go to the Dr. tomorrow so I am going to ask for a pill form. I think they have that. Not sure. And the baby will not be harmed by the yeast at all. I think we just have to suffer with them. I am 36wks so hopefully after baby, I won't get them again.. I never even had them before.. good luck to you

  3. The bacteria balance of your v****a can get seriously screwy during pregnancy. From everything that I've read yogurt is actually indicated to help with this bacteria balance because the good bacteria cultures in the yogurt help balance out the 'bad' ones that cause the infections. Be sure to not wear any tight clothing or underwear as this can trap moisture and help the bacteria to grow. If you are constantly moist, common in pregnancy, try wearing a panty liner of some sort and changing them frequently throughout the day.

Check out the link below for some alternative treatments to the regular ones. Readers provided some interesting things in the comments.

  4. have you been tested for diabetes? see a homeopath.

  5. Try eating more yogurt and maybe adding some "probiotics".  It can definitely effect your pregnancy, can cause preterm labor and premature birth.  Definitely abstain from having s*x (including oral), taking baths and be careful to use a mild body cleanser, not something really perfumed.  Also, cotton panties should help too.

Why are you having a scheduled C-section?

Edit:  Aww, you poor thing, your first labor sounds very trying.  I would try the things I've recommended, definitely eat a yogurt every day.  The active cultures help your body deal with and prevent yeast infections from cropping up.  Good luck.

Edit #2:  The pill form of treatment for yeast infections, Diflucan, is not recommended for usage in pregnant women.  Also, yeast infections CAN be a RISK, they can cause preterm labor and premature birth (contrary to what another poster just stated).

  6. I havent, but my sister had them throughout her whole pregnancy and all she could do was take the medicine that the doctor had given her. And also if you eat yogurt much dont eat that because that can bring them on. Sorry for your discomfort. But I dont believe it will harm your baby any, its just a discomfort for you to have to live with.
