  1. A lot of people have thought they were getting direct deposit but for whatever reason aren't, so are assuming they'll get it earlier than they really are.  For example, if you had a tax prep place do your return and had your fees taken out of your refund, you aren’t eligible for direct deposit.

Check your bank statement from when the original refund came - if it says "US Treasury" you should be OK for direct deposit as long as that account is still open, and you didn’t split your refund into multiple accounts. Otherwise, you’ll get a paper check

Since the first round of direct deposits is done, it sounds likely that you'll be getting a paper check.

The other possibility is that you filed too late for your return to be processed by the 4/15 cutoff to make the first round of stimulus payments

  2. I had the same experience.  According to the website www.irs.gov, I should have received mine on May 9th because of my SS# and the fact that I did the Direct Deposit and still waiting, so I went directly to the IRS Office.   They told me that because I had the Direct Deposit put into 2 separate accounts (my Checking and Savings), it was being treated like a "paper check" and I will be receiving a check in the mail on June 20th.  It didn't specify that on the website and I thought that maybe they deposited it to the wrong account # or something, but they said "NO".   I will receive notice of getting the check 1 week prior to the date that it is mailed out, and they told me that if I don't receive it within 4 weeks from June 20th to go back to the IRS office to let them know.  They said you "can not call any phone number and talk to a live person" because they could never keep up with the overwhelming calls, so you'll have to go in person if you really want to know why you didn't get it yet.

  3. i sitll havnt got mine my bf has and my friends did to but someone told me they where sending them out on the 16th but i havnt got that paper saying what im getting :( and i could use the money

  4. If you are aware that the stimulus checks are going out by the last 2 digits of your ssn, than you either filed your taxes wrong or weren't eligible.

  5. A few possibilities:

    1. You filed near the April 15 deadline.  The rebate schedule is for returns PROCESSED (not RECEIVED) by the IRS by April 15.

    2. You did not have $3000 in qualifying income.

    3.  Phase Out: The stimulus payment begins to phase out for individuals with adjusted gross incomes (AGI) over $75,000 and married couples who file a joint return with AGI over $150,000. The combined payment is reduced by 5 percent of the income above the AGI thresholds.

    4. You could be claimed as a dependent.  Dependents are not eligible for the rebate.
