Has anyone else noticed that ladybugs and fireflies are scarce this year?

ladybugs - usually i see a lot of them, only have seen 2 this year so far

fireflies - a few but not like they used to be

Your right, I have not seen much of either one. I have also not seen very many crickets or even ants this year. I wonder why?

i don't see the fireflies like i used to. i used to see them everyday like it seemed like there were thousands of them, this year i haven't really been seeing them. it seems like its getting to be too cool for August. as for ladybugs i've seen like one.

yeah, I've seen many fireflies but I don't think i've seen a ladybug yet...

No not really.  I just had a lady bug land on me yesterday.  For some reason they always land on me, which is pretty cool.  I live in Houston, but I still occasionally see lightning bugs from time to time.  When we went camping in the hill country, there were hundreds of them come sundown.  I guess ya gotta be in the country.

yes, i have noticed that there aren't many.  Also there aren't many katydids around this year making noise at night.

  You know -- you are right, I thought I was just going out at the wrong time to watch the fireflies and ladybugs - I have only seen one.
