And how challenging did you find it to be? Also, I know I may sound stupid for asking this but do I need a graphing calculator or will a scintific calculator be okay? BTW, I'm taking chm1025C

  1. Chemistry is pretty challenging. If you find math difficult (such as basic algebra and word problems) it will be especially tough. If you ace math, then chemistry won't be as hard, but it will still be a challenge.

Graphing calculators are easier to use, once you learn how to use them. However, they are expensive, and not absolutely necessary. The only classes I ever needed it in were high school calculus and physics.

  2. i no chemistry is applied into everything that we use but i hate it...

im good at math but of all sciences thats the one i dont like love natural science every science except chemistry. i still respect it though.

  3. I've taken chemistry, it was challenging, yes, but the more problems you do and the more time you put in the easier it becomes. It's important not to slack because most chemistry books build on their concepts - you generally have to take the concept and formulas you just learned and apply it to the new concept, which can be hard if you breezed through the previous chapter.

I did just fine with a plain scientific calculator - a TI-30x. Just make sure you're comfortable with your calculator - if you know it well it doesn't matter how expensive it was.

  4. Scientific calc is all you need.  Graphing calcs are unnecessary and may be banned since they can store notes.
