Question:

Has anyone else tried taking the steps up from the Metro at Montmartre?

  1. Yes, I did it and Yes, I regretted it, but, since the first time I did it, I walk on the wonderful streets, not using the elevator.

It's tiring, but it really depends on what kind of shape you are in.  The funicular is nice if you don't feel like climbing.  Also, if you don't like climbing steps but don't want to use the funicular, you can take the twisty way up from the Moulin Rouge, which is a lot longer but involves no stairs and is quite quiet and pleasant.

  3. Yes I walked up the lot, and yes I regretted it... We didnt have any cash to pay for the lift so we had to! Worth it when you get to the top

  4. We tool the lift up and walked down. That was very nice. The view an the walk down was breath taking as the sun set.

  5. I took the steps - the deepest station in Paris, I believe (Abbesses?).

  6. Yes i did walk up there. It was a bit tiring but it was still nice and worth it.

  7. y'know i don't even have a clue what that is... kansas syndrome i s'pose...
