I would appreciate answers from individuals that have been through this process, not information from websites.

  1. In the United States the ONLY thing that will "speed up" the process is to submit the paperwork correctly the first time.  This saves you from having to correct it to begin processing.

Once it's accepted for processing there is NOTHING that will get your case advanced before all the people who applied before you.  You'll wait your turn just like everybody else.

    God bless and good luck.

  2. My husband is from Mexico City and it is a sloooow process from MX.  It took right under two years, and a lot of red tape.  Before you start make sure you have all your ducks in a row

.  The biggest issue is always going to be do you make enough money to support this person, and can you provide them a place to live.  Also you will have to sign some papers saying if they go on any form of public assistance in the first two years of living in the US that you will pay it back.
