Has anyone ever applied to those "Cruise Ship" ads that you see in the paper?

There are these agencies that advertise in the paper that say they will help you get a cruise ship job, but it costs money. I am wondering if anyone has ever got a job through them or if it's just a scam.

  1. Lew is right.

You can do it directly through them.

Carnival is the best place to start. Went on a cruise and the server told me they start you out there then you get boosted up to costa,..princess and then cunard.   Carnival Corp owns almost all the cruise ships out there.

If you want to work somewhere warm and tropical:

  2. They are not all scams, but most will charge you a hefty fee for the privilege of sending your resume to a cruise company and for registering as a member of their on-line recruitment agency.

The question about finding a cruise line job and the best way to go about it has been asked on YA plenty of times, do a search and read the answers for helpful tips.

The consensus, i believe,is to apply to the cruise lines directly or to the concession holders.
