So, I got this job where I'm one of those people who try to get potential customers to try a product. In my case, it's the nintendo wii and ds. This is my first time doing this type of job and there is only going to be less than a single day of training. So, I was hoping someone could give me some tips and advice before I start. I know, I'm suppose to try to get people excited/interested in the wii, but I'm not sure on what to say or how. Anything is appreciated. Thanks.

  1. we call them promodizers.  demonstrating a product is always best if you can get the customer involved by sampling.  In your case its best to show rather than tell. You're working with a visual medium, so use it to engage the prospects.  Once you have them trying it, then give them the followthrough (the coupon, special deal, anything that leads to the purchase).  Let them sell themselves.

Also, try to go through suspects (those who have no real interest, or are out of market [old farts like me]), as quickly as possible and find those interested.  If its visual, look at their eyes.  If the demo transfixes them ask them if they want to try it.  Also don't hesitate to let kids play with it.   They are GREAT for nagging parents into buying these items.
