  1. Yeah for you, you'll have a blast...

When i went on my first cruise i found it was the only way to travel for me...

First day is just about finding your way around the ship and start eating. you'll have a safety drill. Then just watch the boat sail away from port. you have an assigned dinner time and maybe you'll be seated with other people. it is really fun to meet people on the ship since you will be with then for a whole week...

every night you get a little newspaper on the next day activities and even a animal made out of towel when you room gets turned down.

there will be shows, events, activities, tournaments, tons of photo opportunities and eating... even midnight buffets for those late eaters...

you'll have at least one formal night where everyone gets really dressed up and gets a bunch of drinks for free... and meets the captain.

you will have endless fun on the ship  and even more fun when you get off in cabo and peurto vallarta. soda is not free but your best bet is just to buy a soda card which makes them all free if you have a card. also remember that room service is free too.... have fun...

  2. You are going to have so much fun!  It takes a little while to get on and to get off...when the trip is over but, the rest of it is AWESOME!  I went on my first cruise with Carnival in may of 2007 and it was the absolute best!  Everyone is so nice, and there is sooooo much food and fun!  Make sure you bring enough formal clothes so that you have something dressy to wear to the dining room each night....that is where the best dinner is at.  Lobster, prime rib, and every dessert you can think of.  (that was my biggest mistake)  Before dinner they have all kinds of pictures that you can pose for...you get to see them the next day and only buy if you like them.  That was pretty cool, they have really nice props.  The dining room staff and everyone else is so nice..your not going to want to go home.  Order room service..just for fun!  Other then that bring a camera, lay in the sun, and be prepared to gain at least 5 pounds.  When you are getting off the boat on the Islands be prepared to be bombared with locals who are going to be willing to take you anywhere...haggle with them for prices.  If they give you a price say "10.00 cheaper"  If they say no walk away to the next person...they will follow you and match your price- Guaranteed!  Read your daily paper that you get in your mailbox outside your door everyday...it lets you know what is going on on the boat. (bingo, shows, daily drink specials, what time the boat docks, and departs, etc..)  Your going to have so much fun!  I wish I could come! lol

  3. I have been on two carnival cruises and will be taking my third this February. I love them as does my husband.  If you want more info, check out Cruisecritic.com.  There you can find out specific things about the Legend from others who have cruised on it recently as well as talk to folks who are taking the same cruise as you.  There is also a lot of info on your ports of call there.  I hope you have a great time!

  4. We were on the Legend in July. It's my favorite boat by far. Unlike most of the other ships, there is no dining room in the center of the ship. If you've been on one of those ships, you know you need to walk down (or up) then back up (or down) to get across the ship when the dining room's closed. Luckily, the Legend only has one dining in the back of the ship. That was very nice.

I usually got disoriented at the buffet. There weren't any distingushing features of the stations, so you can get lost!

Overall though, the ship is laid out very nicely. The staterooms are fine, and (when we went) the staff was awesome. If he's still on there, and you're lucky enough to get him in the dining room, Roberto is a great waiter!

If this is your first cruise, here's a tip for when you first board. The rooms are blocked off, so you have to go to the buffet and/or lido deck for lunch. (Nothing wrong with that though!) Many people wonder where the deli is. It's right at the buffet. Try to get there as quickly as possible. As soon as everyone sees you walking away with a freshly made (sometimes hot) sandwich, everyone will flock over to the deli.

Also, on a lot of ships, if you ask for a steak sandwich at the grill outside, they'll make you one. I didn't know about this until I was told about it a few months ago.

I could go on for a while. Good luck and have fun on your cruise! I'm sure you will.

  5. We just got back from our very first cruise and it was on Carnival's elation. It was FABULOUS. The rooms were nice, the beds were unbelievably comfortable, the staff were to the person friendly and helpful and the food was fantastic! You can order every dish on the menu if you want, but we were good except for lobster night. If you like soft drinks, definitely buy their soda card. It is $5.50 a day, but you can have unlimited soft drinks. At $1.75 a pop for a glass of diet coke..buy the card. You will have a wonderful time!  Enjoy!!

  6. We were on the Legend in Sept on 07. This was one of the best cruises we have ever been on. The food was great service was great. You will love it, it is not like your usual cruise ship. It's like knights of the round table.

We have spent a whole lot more on othere cruise lines and got a whole lot less.

  7. You can expect good food, good sights, good service, good times, good drinks, and a generally good time.  The big disappointment is when you get home, and you have to make your own meals, make your own bed up and pick up your wet bath towels.
