We're thinking of going on one for our honeymoon. If you have been on one or heard from someone who has, please let me know how it was. Thanks.

  1. While the Disney Corporation are masters at customer service, understand the Disney cruises are not adult cruises that accommodate children, they are children's cruises that accommodate adults.

There is not romantic type venues...the dining room is filled with kid-friendly atmosphere.

I would recommend a more adult cruise line for a honeymoon.

Check out www.vacationstogo.com for details on all of the major cruise lines.

  2. Disney cruises are designed for kids, I woul recommend some other line for aduls.

  3. no, oversived rodents scare me

  4. Actually, it was my first cruise. A 3-Day Caribbean leaving from Port Canaveral to Nassau, and Castaway Cay (Private). It was pretty good, and full of Disney (duh). If you're a Disney lover, and a cruise lover like me you'll find it perfect.

  5. i saw a thing on the travel channel

dont listen to that guy^ it is for anyone, not just kids or families! they actually have the most trouble getting singles!. hmm from what i saw they are nice and have many neat things. they even have a pool just for adults i would suggest goign to their site to learn more about it!

    have fun!

  6. Ok, I haven't been aboard the Disney Cruise Line yet, but I am a Disney Fanatic, love Walt Disney World and know a lot about all the different Disney Destinations. I have to correct JulieT and skcs69. The Disney Cruise Line was not designed for children and they aren't "children's cruises that accommodate adults." As I said, I'm a Disney Fanatic, so, though I haven't been aboard the Disney Cruise Line, I know just about everything there is to know about it. I've watched numerous shows about it, too, and it was actually designed for adults. People have to remember, the children can't go on these cruises without their parents or any adults, so the most important thing is that it attracts ADULTS, not kids. Yes, it has a Disney theme, but that doesn't mean it's designed for children. Walt Disney World and Disneyland weren't designed for children either, they were designed for entire families. On the Disney Cruise Line there's a pool and bar area for adults only, some lounges that are obviously for adults only, the gorgeous Vista Spa which is for adults only, the beautiful restaurant, Palo, for adults only, and at Castaway Cay (Disney's privately owned island) there is an entire beach for adults only.

A Disney Cruise would be excellent for a honeymoon. I know of many people who've been married at Walt Disney World and have then ended with a honeymoon aboard the Disney Cruise Line, and I've never heard a negative reviews. Everyone is just blown away after experiencing a Disney Cruise. You should check out the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings website. There's a section for honeymoons. Perhaps they have some information about honeymoon packages for the Disney Cruise Line...

If I were you, I would definitely go on a Disney Cruise for my honeymoon. I can't wait to be married. I want to have the wedding at Walt Disney World and then have our honeymoon aboard the Disney Cruise Line. Trust me, you two would have an incredible, romantic time.

    Hope I could help! Congratulations!

  7. Disney cruises are awesome for people with children.  If you do not have children chose a first rate line like Celebrity.  We took our 3 and 5 year olds on a Disney cruise and now consider it the only choice for families.  This is because people who have children are more tolerant of other, and their own, children running allover the place at all hours of the day and night with no supervision.  Playing in the elevators and acting up at diner, continuously occupying the hot tubs etc.

This I tolerate because my kids and I am, to a lesser extent part of the problem.  Also the ports of call are lame and the cruise is a bit pricey, but the ships are lovely.

Some people complain that they dont get the pampering they had gotten on other cruise lines, this is sort of true because the pampering is geared toward the children and the family.

It can't be all things to all people.

  8. I've had some really good friends go on a Disney Cruise, and the general consensus was that it is an amazingly fun experience...if you like kids and Disney. Disney's ships are "family friendly" (would you really expect anything else from the owners of Disney World), and as such do play to young children. However, much like it's theme parks, Disney has done a truly commendable job creating two different ships within a ship: one for families, and one for adults only. There is an adults only pool which plays classical music and is generally secluded from the children's and family pools. There is an award-winning adult's only restaurant (Palo) which is supposedly fantastic. There is also an entire adults-only section part of Castaway Cay, Disney's private island in the Bahamas known as Serenity Cove (or maybe Serenity Bay or Beach or something with Serenity in it) featuring a private beach, open-air massage cabanas, and separate dining options for those 18 and over. In terms of cabins and comfort, Disney's family-centric planning works to your advantage, as their staterooms are some of the largest at sea. Plus, they have amazing honeymoon and newlywed packages.

Of course, you'll still be on a Disney ship. While you can avoid kids, you can't escape them, and similarly you can make a vain attempt to avoid Disney characters and themes if you don't like them, but won't get very far. Also, be aware that Disney ships do not feature a casino, if that's an integral part of your vacation, look elsewhere.

If you're like me and my friends, and love Disney no matter how old you are, then don't even think twice about taking a Disney cruise. So far, the company has been doing amazingly well; so much so that the Disney Magic is going to be sailing European itineraries for a while, and Disney is in negotiations to build several new ships. Mickey Mouse was my hero as a kid, and the theme parks are wonderful. Disney can truly make anything happen, and that extends to their cruise line as well.

I'm sure whatever you decide to do, you'll have fun. Congratulations on your honeymoon!
