to someone about their car they sometimes send you an email back saying a description about the car but they also give a cockamammy response saying that their car is in another location other than what was stated on craiglist and how sometimes they want to do business through a ebay business transfer or something of that nature. they also say that they will ship the car if it needs to be shipped. at any rate, is this a scam or what because i dont trust to give my money to someone through the internet and they ship a car to me. if anything i will give them the money in person and then drive off with the car if everything is alright with it.

  1. It's a scam. If it's a legit seller they will agree to meet you somewhere to see the vehicle. Don't pay for it before you see in person.

  2. Been there done that, NEVER EVER EVER!! Send money to someone selling something that you don't know that's not willing to meet & make a proper business transaction!! Also, don't fall for the ''(I'll send half to you in a travelers check or cashiers check'') If you are the one selling something!! You will try to cash the check & may go to jail cause it's a fake! and if you deposit it in your bank account look forward to a whole lot of fees for a bounced check then they sed your name and info to the feds because obviously banks are federal government and they don't play!!

  3. Yes, that is a very common scam on craigslist. Always make sure you can see the car in person first, and a phone number you know is, at least, in the same state as you is in the ad.
