Has anyone ever been sentenced to jail in Wisconsin? ?

A friend of mine has had the misfortune of being pulled over for his 3rd DWI in Wisconsin and I'm curious how long after sentencing will he have to wait prior to serving his time.

As lax as Wisconsin is regarding drunk driving, he may not even go to jail. I'm serious, it's like they encourage it there.  It's ridiculous.  I have seen articles in the paper for people on their 3rd and 4th DUI who don't spend any jail time.

Your friend should have got a court date for sentencing. If the judge ordered a pre-sentence investigation, it could be several weeks.

Third offense DWI in Wisconsin carries a mandatory 30 day jail sentence. The maximum is one year.
