Has anyone ever been taken off a plane and searched?

My friend recently was asked to step off the plane and be searched for contraband. This was after he had gone through all the security checkpoints. He was told that an anonymous tip had been called in stating he was carrying drugs. He had nothing on him. But, he flys alot. Could that have been a reason to target him?

the only time i was searched like that was when i was abducted by aliens..some body either had a mistaken identity or had a bone to pick with your friend

No, they wouldn't target him because he's a frequent flyer. Think of the number of business men who travel all the time.

Someone must hold a grudge for your friend. Horrible thing to happen to him though.

no, they usually dont delay a flight for just a random search, these searches are done way before a person gets on flight. I believe someone who knows your friend called the airport and made a fake tip. Maybe someone who did it for kicks or hates him.

That's creepy.  Ive never even been searched at security, i always go through security with no trouble.
