I have seen pictures of those places and they all look so beautiful. What should I expect if I go to those places someday?

  1. If you go to Ireland, you can expect to have a great time, but a constant topic of conversation is the weather, because it really is very changeable and unpredictable.

Also regarding Ireland - don't be fooled by distances on the maps. They may seem short, and it is a small country, but the roads were not made for large and fast volumes of traffic, we don't have too many motorways! Always allow twice as much time as you think you will need - for example, it takes nearly 3 hours to drive from my house south of Limerick city to Dublin city centre, and that is outside of rush hour in either city.

Also, bear in mind that you're seeing the fantasy, Tourist Offices like to sell the fairytale version. Ireland has factories, grimy cities, ghettos, bad areas, nightclubs, etc.

  2. I am Irish and live in that beautiful place. It's green, wet and cold a lot of the time. When the sun shines its the best place on earth!!

    I love Scotland too.

  3. Not only is Ireland extremely beautiful, the people are extremely nice and fun.  I recommend you visit Ireland and see these places in person.  They look pretty in pictures, but these pictures do not do these places justice.  You must go to County Donegal and the Giant's Causeway.  Scotland is lovely as well.   I really enjoyed Edinburgh; the city looks like it is out of a  fairytale--gorgeous!  I apologise, I cannot tell you about Australia and New Zealand; I also hope to go to those countries one day as well.

  4. i lived in Ireland for 8 years and Scotland for 1 year i missed Ireland beautiful place to live.

  5. I'm from Ireland:beautiful here even though i'm biased

Scotland:prob my favourite place in the world apart from Ireland and Martha's vineyard,MA..It's gorgeous in Scotland

New Zealand:Never been there but my friend lived there, beautiful too!

  6. if you go to Scotland expect adventure, variety and excitement :-) though i suppose New Zealand would be the same but ive never been.

  7. I've been to all 3 ,(I live in Ireland).  And they are all beautiful places.  I thought New Zealand was like a mini Europe.   Alps and fjords on the south of the south Island.  Nearer the top was more like Ireland, (all green fields and beautiful beaches)

Parts of the North island reminded me if France, and on top of all that you have bubbling mud and geezers.  Fabulous country.  But be ready to go on a 10k trek and think its a good idea!

As for Scotland, I loved the highlands. There's is something so earthy and sensual about the place it gave me ideas, it if wasn't so cold, LOL.

People seem to love Ireland when they are here, its seems to roll along at its own pace outside of Dublin.  If you do come here just enjoy the criac and relax

  8. I've been to Ireland.  It's very beautiful and very green, even in February.

I wouldn't recommend you to go there if you are a drinker, though, because nobody likes to drink in Ireland.

  9. Ireland is the best place EVER!!

    The Irish Culture, by Ciara!

In need of a pound of butter, then don't rush into town,

Call over to Mary next door, she won't let you down!

Come over for a summer, come over for a day,

But make sure and pack plenty, You'll surely want to stay!

We're known for our humour, we're know for our smile,

You could be mesmerized by our accent, well for a little while!

That's the best poem I have ever made up!!

  10. I live in Ireland and it's really nice. You'd like it!!

  11. scotland was absolutely stunning. we went on a self-drive trip and just stopped where it looked good and did our own thing. they say it rains all the time, but it rained once in two weeks. (maybe the weather fairy was being nice, eh?) i liked the fort williams area, edinburgh and just south of that the best. rolling hills, friendly people, laid-back atmosphere...couldn't ask for a better place to be. only bad thing was the food was a little bland for my taste.

new zealand was nice, as well. i've only been to the north island, but it was much like being in the UK. time seemed to stand still because it was like having stepped back about 50 yrs...people were very friendly (although not quite as outgoing as scots were), scenery was beautiful, we got to see dolphins and black swans and hot springs.

we're going to ireland in may - it will be done the same way as scotland with the exception that we will rent a cottage in one location for most of the duration and plan day trips out of there. we don't plan on being able to see the entire country this way, but that's okay. it'll give us an excuse to go back again someday!
