  1. I have been to Germany...not Saxony, but close to it.

There are bound to be lots of lovely sights to see and interesting places to visit...it all depends on your interests.

Saxony is called...'The Cultural Capital of Germany".

Check out the links below so you can do a little research for yourself. Or do a google search for individual cities' webpages.

Hope you have a wonderful time.

  2. I studied abroad in Leipzig. Saxony is a really cool part of Germany with a distinct accent. It is considered one of the most "german" parts of Germany. There are definately a lot of sights to see, but most are concentrated in Leipzig and Dresden.

In general the people are really, really nice, but it is the former DDR and some areas are pretty depressed, but you shouldn't be concerned with them.

Leipzig is especially nice because it is a college town with enough foreigners that you will not be really treated as an "auslander" because the people are used to students studying abroad. Leipzig also has a well preserved city core as it wasn't heavily bombed like Dresden.

I can't recommend Saxony, and especially Leipzig enough....hope you enjoy your trip and if you have any other questions ,just email me.
