I really enjoy reading (in English and I want to practice my Spanish) and I was wondering if anyone knows of bookstores that in Spain that sell translations of English classics? Like Dickens, Shakespeare and Austen, to some American writers, etc.

I would really appreciate any help! Thank you so much.

  1. All the big bookstores in Spain - at least those in Madrid - carry all the English Classics translated into Spanish. One chain which you can find throughout Spain is the Casa del Libro (web: http://www.casadellibro.es/ ). Another is FNAC (web: http://www.fnac.es/ ). You can even find all the Dan Brown books in Spanish!

  2. Any fair sized local bookstore in Spain has translations of english language books, classics or otherwise.

In large cities you will also find the FNAC (it's a french company with outlets in Madrid, Barcelona, Alicante, Bilbao, San Sebastian, Valencia, Zaragoza, Asturias, Murcia, Sevilla and Marbella (Malaga).

If there is a special book that you want, and the FNAC  doesn't have it in stock they will order it for you.

  3. Bookstores that carry books for University students (so close to the universities) should carry such things, as would Amazon.com.es (I'm sure) and many bookstores in the US and probably England as well.  Try Borders, if you're in the US, or search online.
