  1. The United Kingdom is beautiful, and there are more things to see than just castles :) My cousin studies at york and i study at manchester. No castles at Manchester, as far as I can see, but I saw two at York! Very nice.

Maybe you'd love to see the lake district, it's beautiful and full of natural scenery... and also london is a very exciting city! My fave is oxford because it is academic and peaceful and very nice. Cheers! Have fun!

  2. I live there but i don't like it especially my area south Yorkshire we are thinking about moving abroad.

  3. Neat? As in tidy? Some of them can be quite messy actually.

Sorry, I do know you mean "nice". England is not actually full of castles but there are a few still around, and you can look at some "neat" pictures while you're saving up your cash to travel ... link below.

When you do get there, I recommend Leeds Castle in particular. Confusingly, it's not in Leeds but near Maidstone in Kent. Now that's neat AND nice :)

  4. Castles, we have hundreds of them. The best are at Windsor (about 15 miles west of London) and at Bamburgh North of  Alnwick, close to the Scottish border. This overlooks the Farne Islands (Lindesfarne) which is now an animal sanctuary and only accessible at low tide.

You will need to do a little research before your visit. Google will find you details of them. Not all are open to the public and some are little more than a pile of rubble. Some are free to enter others are expensive.

There are few castles in the London Area. The County of Northumberland has most and there are numerous in Scotland. When you visit it might be better to fly to Manchester and travel from there. a flight to Glasgow or Edinburgh might be suitable. Check out flights to Prestwick if your budget is tight.

    Enjoy your visit.

  6. i live in the uk

  7. There's lots of different kinds of castles you can visit in the UK. As I'm not familiar with castles across the UK, I can tell you about a few in my area in the East of the Country.

For the 'typical' (if there is a typical) stone built castle, you could visit Colchester castle which is an old Roman Castle. From the medieval period you could also see Hedingham Castle or Orford Castle. Also quite interesting is Stanstead Mountfichet Castle (right near stanstead airport) which is a recreated norman Motte. For a more modern fort you could see Landguard point, in felixstowe.

These are just a few ideas, but you may find it useful to look at this website: http://www.ecastles.co.uk/
