  1. Utterly enchanting.  When I took the rail journey to and from Macchu Pichu I found the scenery so spellbinding that I begrudged every moment I blinked!  http://www.raingod.com/angus/Gallery/Pho...

But it isn't all scenery.  There is a great deal of history to be enjoyed.  The Gold Museum (with the Arms Museum upstairs) is a must when visiting Lima!

And don't pack too many warm clothes.  You'll want an excuse to buy some of their stunning knitwear!

  2. yes, I've been. I liked it very much. I spent 2 months in the Amazon around Iquitos. Peru is the best place in the world for partying because it's so cheap for.... well, not that I'd know!! and places stay open until 7 or 8 o'clock in the morning. but if you are just back packing you might be better off going to machu picchu because I think there's more to do there. In the jungle it takes a long time to travel around and there are very few tourist activities outside of ayahuasca lodges! I still rank it in my top three countries (along with Chile and Indonesia) definately go if you have a chance.

  3. i think its like a lot of other countries, it has its beautiful parts, like the maya pyramids but its a very poor country. my mother-in-law is from peru so i'll be going out there shortly, mind you she doesn't live in Lima she lives in a little village up in the mountains!

  4. aLL A BUNCH OF SOUTH AMERICAN RACISTS.

  5. Must be 10 yrs since I went, but a truly amazing country, from Cuzco to Nazca lines, definitely worth a trip.

  6. No, but when I was younger, I used to enjoy consuming mass quantities of Peruvian Marching Powder a lot.

  7. Latin America is so much different, if you go to Peru visit machu pichu is impresionant, have a rich culture, good food, dances, handcrafts, and a terrible traffic jeje. you can buy a lot with a few dollars. Only you have to be care in some part of the capital and look very well your things.

  8. not been there but you are about to go so let me know how it is!!!

  9. yes, i went quite some time ago. the thing i remember the most was riding on the worlds highest sky ride. it was strung up between two mountain tops and swung back and forth viciously with the wind!

that was one of the best times of my life.

    -lucky
