guadalajara mexico? if so, what do you reccommend for sightseeeing and nightlife. i am going there in oct.

Yes, its great but I suggest you should visit a smaller town called Lake Chapala its about 10 minutes away and its absolutely georgous. And if your looking for BEAUTIFUL, go to Mazatlan its about 3 hours from Guadalajara but its a beautiful drive and a stunning city.

Chapala is a lot further then a ten min drive, but I wouldn't want to go there over all the things you can do with out leaving Guadalajara.  

Depends on what you like to do.  You will def want to go to the governors building and check out some of the murals, there is a pretty cool grave yard, the cathedral is pretty, there is a nice anthropology museum beside the cathedral, I like San Juan de dios which is a huge mercado with lots of cool stuff. I bought the first 3 seasons of 24 for $12 lol.  

As for night life there are tons of places to go, Chess is a good place if you like the upscale club.  Just ask someone where you are staying and remember a night club is called a discotec, there are lots of great places to go out, I didn't go out once where I didn't have a good time.  Zapopan has a lot of good bars close to one another, Tlaquepaque is real artsy (my favorite), Tonala has a huge out door market thursdays and sundays.  If you like out doorsy things ask someone to tell you how to get to la baranca its a trail that goes down into a canyon, its like hike up a mountain but backwards.  Hope you have fun!

Yes, it was gorgeous. I just went to visit family so I didn't really get into the nightlife.
