  1. expect to be worn out in many different ways by the time you get back home

  2. was there in the 70s and stopped going in the mid 80s.

You carry that wear with you, and dont ride like that cept around town.

and hope you don't fall over.

Saw a fine gal hit the bricks in a leather halter and mini.

She was hamburger at 35 mph

  3. Cant wait to see you wearing that here I only live 14 miles away love going there all the time h**l put stickers on your nipples and your still wearing to much, no joke. Have fun ride safe.

  4. I've been there once.  No problem with the outfit you described.  It can get cold there, especially at night.  So pack some long sleeves, jeans and a jacket just in case you need them.

  5. it would be out of line if you are going to be riding all day but if he wants you to dress like that for Main Street/Campgrounds/Bars for the attention... you will get plenty of looks...but for serious riding try jeans and a t-shirt and something other than sandals..there is alot more the area than just hanging out in a bar in Sturgis...get out and enjoy the countryside

  6. I been there at least 15 times. It would not be out of line at all, in fact, if you stay a private place ( where the cops can't go ) you might be over dressed. I thought Garden of The Gods was in Colorado Springs.

  7. i went for the first time probably before you were born, It was fun back then because there was nothing but bikers attending. i have gone back a couple of times in the past few years. it has turned into a yuppie circus. lots of "trailer queens" and upscale wannabees. It's not for bikers anymore. it's just a massive rip off to separate RUBs with  fantasies of being bikers from their money. Too crowded and way too overpriced. there are runs in the country that are still by and for bikers. look for the smaller events that are sponsored by motorcycle clubs. i personally like the Yuma Prison Run. But. if you want to trailer your bike there just to park it in downtown Sturgis and walk around showing off your newest official "Motorclothes" with the rest of the RUBs, then go for it.

  8. You might be over dressed.  I've never been to the bike rally there, but have seen it on TV.  Our first trip to Sturgis happened on our way from Devils Tower inroute to Crazy Horse(about 14 years ago).  We stopped off at Sturgis, just because.  The lady at the gift shop there told us that the rally was starting the following week.  Up to that time we had never heard about it.  We had noticed, as we got closer to Sturgis(coming from Yellowstone)that we were seeing more motorcycles and trailers hauling them.  Telling us what she did, solved the mystery as to "why so many".  She said the Sturgis Bike Rally feeds that entire town for the winter(because of all the money it takes it).  I know a couple of bikers who have been there.  They said they think it's just to sleazy.  They like a bit of "class" to their rallies.

  9. I have been an a few occasions, You will fit right in.

  10. bring bug spray and sunscreen

people wear anything (or less) you could imagine

  11. It doesn't matter what you wear. Pretty much anything goes as long as you're not showing your privates (at least in front of the cops).

  12. Sounds good!!

  13. That clothing will fit right in.

  14. Sound to me like you might be a little over dressed. but That fine for the partying part of the trip but if you going do a little riding there a lot to see Crazy horse. Garden of the Gods (We did that on teh way up from Texas) I was thinking of the Bad lands and of course Mt Rushmore some or these can be a bit of a ride so where the right stuff for these rides. Here are some pic to help you pack
