  1. The airport serving the Costa Calida is Murcia though Alicante and Almeria are not a million miles away. I went last year to Puerto de Mazarron which is a tourist area but  mainly for the Spanish themselves. Typically, I was told, the Madrilenos come there during July and August but before and after it is a lot less crowded. I discovered the beaches of Bolnuevo which are lovely little coves set in a protected area. These beaches are naturist but as anywhere in Spain there is no obligation on your part to strip off if you don't want to. I did and found it excellent for chilling out. You do of course need a car  preferably but not essentially a 4x4 to reach them but it was extremely relaxing and of course in such a natural area you have to take everything with you that you'll need as there are no facilities. This area of Spain gets very little rain and you are virtually guaranteed plenty of sun.
